Whats the actual difference between 2 points for win and 1 for draw and the classical 1 and 0,5? Actually even 543.7 for draw and 1087.4 for win is the same, but that's little bit less convenient.
But I agree with your idea that adding rapid chess isn't good
You know EveniyZh I admit I think I had that system confused with the 3-1-0 system.
It doesn't make much difference and actually if you must add in rapid games but you don't want the rapids to count as much it seems a pretty decent way to go. The rapid games count as 1-.5-0 so a win in classical chess sort of counts like 2 wins in rapid.

I was pretty excited about this tournament, but then I read the rules.
win =2 points draw 1 and loss 0.
Also they are going to incorporate rapid games.
Why is there such a push to dilute classical chess?
Just out of curiousity does anyone really care who wins a rapid tournament? For those who do care do you also care who wins a blitz tournament or a blindfold?
