2000 rapid, finally, 2000 in every time control

    I started playing chess in 2020, 26.Dec. So basically in 2020's Christmas. At first, I thought I was pretty good(literally clapped all of my classmates lol), but when I made my account and actually started playing, I realized that I ain't as good as I thought, and that a LOT of ppl are still much better then me. But I didn't give up, I started by learning openings theory, and then started doing puzzles. I also watch youtubers explaining the ideas in some position, and that also helped with my chess.

    I started to improve after playing for only 2 weeks. Maybe it is because I am a fast learner, or it may because my rating was really low then(1200 rapid). But I started to improve. It wasn't exactly quick, but I was getting better and better days by days. And after finally finding the openings that suits me(QG and French defense), I started to improve faster then ever. Hitting 1600 rapid after only about 6 months of playing. It may not sound too hard because it was only 400 rating points, but it was a big achievement for me .

    But after I finally reached 1800 rapid for 7 months ago, I realized that it is getting much harder to beat my opponent, and that blunders and mistakes were not made as often as at the 1600 level. It became much harder to improve. But after I worked on mt tactics and endgame gameplay, I eventually reached 1900 rapid on 1.Feb. But I didn't stop there. With the new hype of reaching 1900 rapid, I started to play blitz and bullet. And somehow gained a lot of rating points. Pushing my bullet and blitz to it highest ever!

    Even though I have had a lot of success in bullet and blitz, I wasn't really playing rapid. And after 1 month of hard grinding bullet and blitz, I returned to playing rapid again.

    At first, I struggled. I was making simple blunders and just can't play at good quality. But after some time, I eventually found the function button for my brain, and started to win my games again. Even though I only played blitz and bullet for about 1 month, it doesn't mean I haven't improved in rapid even though blitz and bullet are speed chess. And after 1 more month of playing rapid, I reached my goal. 2000 rapid(I also promised myself not to play rated bullet or blitz before I reach 2000 rapid to motivate me lol)

Daily is a time control as well unless you just mean live.

I was only counting live chess because I am not playing daily chess seriously plus it takes forever to finish one game off.

You're higher bullet and blitz than rapid, do you feel you're better at faster time controls? For me its exactly the opposite, I absolutely suck at blitz and bullet because I always lose a winning position under time pressure lol

Yeah faster time control is what I like better, and also better at. I for some reason is able to calculate fast. So I am capable of playing short time control lol
