400 and playing like 1500 (depends on rating)

Yes. I was before usually 1400+ rating and now i am 1200-1300. Blitz

Leetsak

well since the candidates started if faced nothing but defeats, weather it is 750s blasting top moves up to move 20, weather it some alien dudes blasting 20 moves in 10 secs, all accurate of course, weather it some dude sitting at 800 having played 20k+ games, blitzing out everything and winning in 10 moves easily, no matter the opening you throw out, certain defeat is waiting, also it doesnt even feel like im playying real humans most of the times, as the move accurices to time spent gets more and more ridiculous with passing days

CHDWarrior1990

I usually check after game, what was opponent best rating. Example if he/she are 1200 in the game and best is 1600, so no wonder he/she was good.

Leetsak

actually it is getting kind of comical now, i've lost well over 20 games now and the streak continues, and what amazes me most it that my opponents like robots all make the same amount of mistakes and inaccuries a game regardless of rating, it is alwasy like 3 or so inaccuricies and 1-2 mistkaes, not a single blunder by any opponent so far, and i went all the way from 1000 to like 770 or something, i mean this is ridiculous, might as well play bots and this point

You are just a beginner. It goes up and down.

No, all your games were daily, and you have played precisely 0 live matches at the time of this comment (in case someone's gonna go and look up his account in the future trying to disprove me), you are probably a CHEATER because you won most of your matches (that were already DAILY GAMES which were mostly THREE to FIVE days long [which gives you time to look up engine moves and win]) and never even played a one-hour match, let alone 30, 15, or 10 minute matches. You joined since 2013, but only played one game that year, and one in 2017 (where you lost), but all the sudden you got better after 4 years, without playing any match (daily, live, or blitz) in those 4 years... idk man, seems a bit suspicious... so you're just kinda not in the position to criticize or dismiss anyone... Oh, and my account was made today (again, relative to the time of this comment), and I can verify that what these guys are talking about is 90% correct and relevant. I just made this account, and already had to deal with 700s, 800s, and 900s who played like 1200s, alright. One guy from the Czech Republic, who I got matched with, played multiple top engine moves towards the end of the match and I only lost because he blundered (but most likely mouse slipped) his rook to a square where it got taken by my bishop, and he resigned after that.

For context, my old account was [ Username: 12345chillurassbro ; Elo: 1411 ; and I actually played live games ] (and I was NOT banned -> just to clarify that this account wasn't made because the old one was banned due to CHEATING), and during 2023, things were already getting more difficult for me on my old account. I made this account to have fun again because almost every game that I played on my old account were either just draws or losses, or the matchmaking took too long, and 80% of those, who I did get matched with, aborted. And I didn't come here to whine, in case you question the motivation behind my comment, @arosbishop; for one, because I won most of the matches against these low Elo players who played suspiciously good at certain points during our games; and for two, because they did play high-intermediate moves (except for a certain Czech guy, who played high-advanced or maybe even straight up top-engine moves) at some point during our games, then just flopped and blundered all over the place afterwards, if you care to go and look at those games yourself. Man, I hate arrogant people.

Ok, and if you do really want to prove if I'm indeed 12345chillurassbro on my old account, go ahead and challenge me on a 30 minute LIVE match, and after the match, if I win, I will change my status to "ierutnbti won", and if I lose, I will change my status to "ierutnbti lost", the last game was played a long time ago and if you check right now, it isn't any of those mentioned above, so if anyone wants check if I'm real and challenge me, first go to my profile before challenging me, look it up, and then challenge me, I will not play any game on that account until someone challenges me, after that, you will either see one of the two words mentioned above in my status. Cheers

If you think about it seriously, Elo points are not a total reflection of how good or accurate a player you are. It’s merely a medium by which people historically found suitable opponents. Your true estimate as a player is CAPS accuracy over time and what percentile you are relative to everyone else. As more people join the Chess community and quickly improve, they potentially become underrated and then Elo becomes scarce relative to their accuracy. In the end, everyone struggles to sustain their best ratings without constantly improving.

Absolutely not. CAPS score is almost meaningless. It is 100% for player who plays book moves and then agrees to a draw. Meanwhile, it is much smaller to a player who wins all games.

Elo is literally your past results compressed in one number. Sure, online chess sites use it for pairings, but it's ridiculous to claim that "It’s merely a medium by which people historically found suitable opponents". Historically, Elo ratings didn't exist. It was only invented 75 years ago and FIDE started using it 55 years ago.
