I have done a GTE on the chess.com discord various times ( they play agsint me in a game where my rating is hidden and then guess) . there are ZERO people that have overestimated.
(adverage is 1350), it once was 1300. (adv.1300). I dont htink he will get an ego boost out of it.
Honestly, I wouldnt think the two players were sober if I knew they were 1500

That's insulting, I wanted to know how people would react on it. Would they tell me as an 1100 or 1800?

He is right.
It is difficult to guess ratings. I used to be between 1700 and 1800 few years back. But slowly my rating started slipping. Now I move between 1400 and 1500. But if my memory serves me right, my percentile was around 98 even then as it is now. So perhaps rating algorithm is being tightened over some time.
