You should do exactly what you did.
You aren't responsible for immature players who cannot stand to lose a chess game. Just ignore them. If they harrass you, report them and block them.

You don’t owe him any explanation as to why you didn’t play a second game. Sure, it’s nice, but it’s really not an obligation. I never feel bad if can only play someone once (and I don’t take offence if my opponent is the same).
There is no reason whatsoever for replying to, or even acknowledging, a loud-mouthed poor loser. Delete their stupid message and go on with life. Don't waste your time trying to educate morons

You still need to remain calm and respectful and don’t let him ruin your day, or your game.
I would tell him what I normally say when turning down a date:
“I think you’re a wonderul person, but I just don’t feel any attraction to you. “
Or
“Can we just remain as friends?” 😂

Nice of you to be respectful, I would of rubbed in his face that he lost. You aren’t required to rematch anyone. I personally rarely do, no matter if I win or lose. Plus guys like that reinforces why I don’t rematch, i find it entertaining.
