That's perfectly fine and you have a right to that opinion, but you also have to understand that others might not care about your opinion and that's exactly where the trolling and blocking starts.

If you have a problem with something or someone it is your god given right to voice that opinion, however you are not allowed to harass and assault others if they choose to ignore or block you for aggressively trying to inject that opinion through trolling, spreading of false rumors and plain harassment.

Sorry to be the guy who points out the obvious - Self-appointing oneself as the "Best Forum Posters" is always going to come off as arrogant, and since there's no objective standard (nor can there be), will always be elitist in some way, shape, or form.

I know that @Colby-Covington is truly and honestly trying to promote a friendlier forum atmosphere, and I don't question his intentions in that respect, but as I've told him before, good, constructive conversations can't begin with insults, and it can't involve excluding people, either.

The only way to really stop the cycle of trolling is to settle down and think about how the broader audience is likely to feel by reading the exchange of comments. If one side stays calm while the other side is being dumb/childish/offensive, only the troll loses by that.

@Colby-Covington - Understand what the conversation would look like to someone outside the situation, someone with an open mind, and figure out what you can say to get that person to understand your position. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how often it makes progress even with the person you're actually arguing with. Over-reacting (and blocking users is usually an over-reaction, I've never done it, and I've been called every name in the book) will only convince the casual reader that you want to talk at them, rather than talking to them.

I know troll comments can be outrageous and untrue, but losing one's composure does nothing to make most people understand the real truth. Not saying it is easy, but if we really want to detoxify the atmosphere around here, we have to accept the only words we have the right and power to control are our own.
