I always wish good game before game starts. In our team we are all friends, we are all polite to our chess opponents.

I think real chess players want to play chess and chatting just get at their nerves. They think only patzers do chat, strong players just play and move on. They don't care if it was a good game or not.

It was good when they didn't make a mistake, they know that, so why saying "good game"? Maybe they disagree because they made a mistake and know it was a bad game. And when a patzer says: "Good game" not understanding that it was full of mistakes, they just ignore this nonsense talk and move on. They are here to play and not to chat. Strong players don't chat, they play. Only patzers do chat. That's my experience.

If they are playing a Patzer, they too are a Patzer.

Thanks for the game is just as good. It's simple courtesy. It costs you nothing and spreads good will. Sometimes it's not easy, especially after a loss but give it a try. You will be better for it.

Guilty, it could be GG instead happy.png
I only say gg if the game was good - win or lose a game can be good. Some games are a lot more fun than others. When I feel a game was enjoyable I say gg. I don't do it all the time as it just means nothing.

Yeah... Me too like @3845Man... You are right...

I would make some friendly remarks in a 1 day per move game, but in blitz/bullet games, sorry, I only see the board. wink.png

Avatar of soulman2001

@MayCaesar Certainly yes, in blitz game it is ok, it is quick... but in daily chess you can do it happy.png
