Took a 2 day break from chess, now I suck at it.

I decided I need to take a break from chess (I started to see chess pieces in my sleep), so I didn't play any chess games for exactly two days. Today I decided to play against a beginner bot (250 rating) and I lost. Every player I've played today I've lost against. What the crap happened? Did all my chess knowledge just disappear?

Well let that be a lesson for everyone: NEVER take a two day break.

2 Days won't be enough for someone to lose a significant amount of skill, at all. Probably just had a bad day or something.

I took a 5 month break and I play just as good as before, you are probably just having a bad day.

Just watch a deep game analysis by good players of good masters , You will get into the form

Based on your 2181 blitz rating, getting back on form should not take too long.

It's the exact opposite for me. I took several months of break online (though I occasionally pop up in my local chess club to play untimed games before the pandemic came) and voila! I lost many of my 1|0 and 2|1 bullet games on time.

It makes me feel like I forget how I move my pieces. So yes, taking a 5 month break is definitely detrimental to game play for many players.

P.S. I am now again taking a break from chess games for now, though I still keep myself in touch with chess puzzles.

Thanks for all the help, I seem to be doing better today. Does anyone else have 'bad' chess days?

His 2181 blitz rating is based on only 1 game

I took a 20 year break (from the early 1990s until 2012) and my rating is higher now than it was last century.
