Long strings of quotes are nothing more than attention seekers. People tune out- they are never read. End result- a topic becomes devoid of meaningful input.

Well we will take that as an unwanted opinion.

I joined because of the queens gambit - I literally cannot stop playing! Wish I had learned to play when I was younger!

@Anonymous_Dragon @CheesyAppleSauce - Thank you for reining in the quoting before it became ridiculous. However, please take your personal insults into private messages and stop posting in the public forums.

Let's welcome the newbies to chess.com who joined after getting inspiration from latest Queen's Gambit TV series?

I joined chess.com after I came to know that you could play the engine version of Beth Harmon

Great topic @Melenda2. First of all welcome to all our new members who joined us thanks to the Netflix serie 'The Queens Gambit'. You know what? We've got a surprise for all our Beth Harmon fans, you can now play against her at different ages and stages of her chess career. Check out this article https://www.chess.com/news/view/play-beth-harmon and make sure you hit the orange button to play against her.

beth (9) was more challenging. but I wonder if this is just an engine with 1200 strength or it has Beth's style?

Nice! I was only able to beat Beth (9)- I haven't tried Beth (10)!

I learned chess as a child but hadn't played in years. After watching Queen's gambit I was all fired up to start playing again - chess.com is great, I'm really enjoying the lessons and challenges. Maybe after a while I'll pluck up courage to play against real people :-)

I checked your profile. You haven't played any games. Don't be afraid. Once you play you'll improve definitely

I joined a long time ago, but after not being active for more than a year I was inspired to get going again

Well done. That's what  we'd like to hear! Cheers...

I joined before Queen's Gambit was a gleam in the writer's eye

It is a story of an drug-addicted alcoholic that cares for no one but herself, eavesdrops on her opponents to get an advantage, walks away from the chessboard during play in order to be rude, insults her friends and family, steals when she thinks she can get away with it, and acts like a spoiled child throughout her self-absorbed, meaningless life.

My daughter is a real life Beth Harmon, and you made the worst blunder chess.com, you just bann her out for having great improvement, speed and straight victories in few days.
We watched movie few days ago, and she, just turned 13 in October, asked me to teach her. I’m not strong but not so bad, but I can understand when you face a monster. Without any particular study she was destroying me in three days and having fast straight victories and improvement on chess.com app and you banned her saying she was cheating...
Everyone among opponents saying her she plays Carlsen but she doesn’t know him at all, she is new to the game, she is a miracle, believe me!
I would love to say she started on chess.com when she will become a champion! I’m sure gsantulli (Giulia Maria Santulli, Italy) please help her to become what she deserves, don’t let your big big mistake go on... she wrote you an email. Please believe and help us and let her in with her points back. More than 1600 in just few days... and I’m sure far more and more...

I remember i thought about this before.

What if you are a new talent who will be a gm in his 12 or something, would you be banned for your fast progressing here.

I guess this is the answer.. assuming you are telling the truth.

If you think you are right about your daughter, then contact support. Assuming you are correct, I am puzzled: chess.com is typically very careful about banning. So they probably made a mistake.
