No two different books
I think Silman's Endgame course is very good. I borrowed it from my local library and it seems to cover all the essential stuff you need for every rating level up to expert/master. It's well written and pretty easy to follow too.
I am really enjoying "Predator at the Chessboard". It is free at chesstactics dot org. If you like it there (as I did) you can suport the author and pick up a hard copy. It is split into 2 books ~20 bucks a piece. They are nice hardcover quality printing.

Excellent endgame book: Endgame Strategy by Shereshevsky. Jacob Aagaard's Grandmaster Preparation book on calculation is extremely difficult but quite good

i have pdf format of that book i can do every puzzle in 10 min( gm prep calc)
