@lighthouse You’re right. This thread is about the vintage one but I was just replying to the comment by @jtorrex.

Agree @MCH818, there are a lot of details that are not accurate with the original. Is fun to see how hard is to achieve the details on carving the knights.
About the thread @lighthouse. Probably you are right, this thread intentionally was oriented to vintage Dubros, but, there are other posts here talking about repros or custom designs, so I just wrote here.
If you have any thread more accurate to this kind of content, please share the links!

Recently I discovered this video with an analysis of different reproductions comparing them over the original design lines:

I just talked to him and has bought and reviewed the Royal Chess Mall version of the 1950 Dubrovnik. Royal Chess Mall corrected their 1950 Dubrovnik design after given correct designs by him.

I bought the Staunton Castle version of the 1950 Dubrovnik, as this was his recommendation.

Both versions are excellent.

He told me he is buying the Royal Chess Mall unweighted next in the 1950 Dubrovnik, after his review of the Russian Zagreb 1959 that is ordered.

Beautiful approach also.

I discovered recently a new video uploaded by: György Marjanovic on their youtube channel, showing a very "rare" Dubrovnik, with the classic 70s knight design, but with one particularity, the finials on the kings are not balls but crosses, and the set is weighted.
The carving on the knights seems like the original ones manufactured by Jakopovic, but what about those differences?

Very interesting set, more on these days, with so many discussions on the subforum about the differences between the repros and their small details between them.

What do you think?
