Hi all,
so yeah...I'm lookin for a good tactics book.not an ordinary one though mind u....not the kind where they tell u what an x-ray is,a pin is etc and just give u exercises.no...already know that stuff
I'm looking for one that can teach u how to actually set up/prepare tactics, sacs etc. this kinda stuff still eludes me....and I know I still miss tactics even if they're there....but it's nice to perform a tactic that I've actually planned b4hand....and not because the other guy blundered badly
been studying some positional chess lately but to no avail....it just seems like a waster of time for me as all the positions I seem to get into are tactical....and in live chess there's simply no time to think about positional nuances.heck....that stuff is still above me even if I had hours per game
so I've been looking into School of Chess Excellence 2: Tactical Play by Mark Dvoretsky these past few days...seems like the kind of book i'm looking for...anyone read that one?
oh...and if anyone knows of a good book about the Slav Defense/QGD (from the white perspective) then I'm all ears
