an idea about playing against one another…..

For sure, very interesting game throughout. You were pushing those pawns so strongly early on and I was feeling like I was going to be just stifled if I couldn't deal with it. While I'm not too upset that I missed that d4 move to kick the queen in the photo I shared I'm still beating myself up for not playing 28. Rxc7 as it was staring me RIGHT in the face and I think I actually even considered it, too. I must have been seeing ghosts? Anyway, thanks again for the games!

Its funny for me to read what you say about what you felt when I pushed the pawns. Because i really feel shaky when it comes to pawns and espescialy endgames. Thats far away from my comfort zone. But I Will take the compliment with me. Looking forward to playing with you again🎊

Just a quick update! I sadly can't take any photos right now; however here is how my game vs. @squar3z ended! An intense battle, that's for sure. We have a new game going on now, check it out here: Ksamrock vs. squar3z II

Anyhow, here is our last game for anyone interested:

Nice game! @Ksamrock, I'm hardly a good enough player to start giving advice, but one thing that jumped out at me when reviewing the game is that you instantly traded pieces at every opportunity that presented itself, even when you were down a pawn. One piece of advice I've found extremely helpful was from John Bartholomew when he suggested that you should not trade a piece unless you see an immediate tactical benefit to it or if you have a good reason or plan behind the move. Especially when you're down material, you should look to keep as many pieces on the board as possible so that you can make threats and complicate the game.

Just my thoughts, hope I didn't write anything too incorrect. Good game and I look forward to the photos. grin.png Also, this was another game of strong pawn pushes!

Edit: I just realized @squar3z was white in this one. Sorry about that, I guess the advice should be flipped! 🫢

SMinervino

Yeah, @squar3z was white. You make a great point though, I try not to trade off pieces unless I see a benefit. Notice try is italicized, as I'm still beginning and make many miscalculations.

Ha! That Simpsons set would go great with the Homer Simpson slippers my grandkids got me.

Huge,but very comfy.happy

Once more, I have forgotten to take any pictures. Ah. The games go so quickly! After yet another battle against @squar3z, I was able to pull of the victory. The game is below.

Anyone up for a game on my New board ?😁

Powderdigit

Ok - here’s a ridiculous game. A game with @ungewichtet and his Smurfs against my Mexicans! Impossible to decipher - wish us luck! My pieces gathered around the board for a ceremony first. 😉

And so we start!
…and my wife will kill me with this board on the dining table for a week. 🤦‍♂️

lotsoblots

What in the WORLD is going on? hahaha

Here is the flipside of the coin! Three and a half moves in.. We vowed to play this strictly OTB- and schlumpf move rule, I guess happy.png

Move eight. The first blue piece has crossed the equator.

My board is difficult, yours is impossible! 🤦‍♂️

ungewichtet

A question of perspective.. looking at your latest picture in Mexican mirth.. I find mine much easier!

Powderdigit

Actually … you might be right …🤦‍♂️… we’re both crazy!!

ungewichtet

A surprise f7-f5 pushing back my knight to c3.

There is somewhat a lot to discover in every position.

My bishop and pawn advancing down the left are being met with a considerable number of folk protecting the King. I’m only here to say hi! Other actors are now taking a break - grateful to be away from the skirmish, resting under a pot plant!

Le schtroumpf paresseux salue la reine bleue

Learned to play it! Fantastic stuff, it's my go-to correspondence set now.

Here is a wonderful old set from Silesia. It is so small with a king of 4,8cm that it gets little play (now, while once, it used to be used). So here seems the perfect place for me to show it and use it. Maybe there is somebody who has a set to share, too, and would like to play a game "3 days", with occasional "action"photos.
