Ahmed Aryan, I am actually playing a game with Krames. You can see the game on his set a few moves earlier on the previous page, the beautiful Averbakh pieces. If you want to play me, go ahead. Just set up your board make your first move and take a photo for this thread. It's about playing correspondence chess via messages and upload the occasional photo here to present sets in play, I guess.
an idea about playing against one another…..

Before Krames says 'Lights! Camera! Action! We're on' I post a photo from some days ago. A peaceful pic of where my correspondence board rests up on the stove.

…. talking about an uncomfortable position - alas, that is where I am here but at least i enjoy the visual of my demise!! 🤦♂️😊

Starting a game with ungewichtet. I accept your gambit challenge, ungewichtet.

Thank you, magic, and some are good, but it's not me The French have the best interpretation of the elephant piece, and we would be twin fools. Very nice pieces, Bobby, and board
I bring a vintage Bulgarian set from the sixties or seventies for our game. We have often seen use of colours to make a bond between the adverse sides: This one is new to me: The white rooks on top are tainted pink, the black rooks have a soft sticker of roundabout the same colour. I was going to peel it off, but then I heard it was made this way and the custom for these sets. Maybe somebody from Bulgaria knows when that would have been? Thank you very much
Position after 7.Be2

Solid choice with Bulgarian set and board, ungewichtet. It's a cool find, too. The pink rook tops are also a curiosity to me; perhaps someone can tell us the purpose of those colors and the sticker? Were the colors originally red and then faded to pink?
The green board I have used is just a simple paper board that I folded in half. I duct-taped the back of the board (with maroon-colored tape) to give it some weight and prevent tearing. I am also playing with Pamvo7, and I learned from him that the set I have was made by Feltham of London.

Watch out for "Ung"....he's good!
You were right, magictwanger. Ung beat me with the King's gambit. The position was hopeless so I resigned after 24 moves. I underestimated how quickly I could lose to him, haha.

Pictured is the final position otb:

We got this position after 17.Nf3-h4. I have kind of castled my queen. Bobby has this super orderly position. Out of Bg6, Be6, Be4 and Bd7, black opts for 17.Bd7. It continues 18.Bc4 Nd8 19.Nf5 and I expect Qb6 or Qf8. But correspondence is just chess and there is oversights, and after 19.Bxf5 it was Rxe8+! So let us have a rematch with different sets, okay? New pieces, new luck!
Last position with all pieces on board..
