Annoying whistle in chessbase programs

Hello. Does anyone know how to turn off that incredibly annoying whistle on chessbase programs like Fitz etc. when trying to play an illegal move? Cheers!

Cool thanks!

If you don't want to disable all of the board sounds, you could search for a wav file somewhere in the Chessbase folder structure (probably "ChessBase\Sounds\Board", or something similar). On my system, it's named "illegal.wav".

Then just either delete the file or substitute a different wav sound by renaming the new sound to "illegal.wav".

@EscherehcsE: Thanks... I've replaced the sound file. That whistle was really annoying!

It would also be nice not to be restricted to the built-in highlight colours - to make them e.g. more friendly to red-green colourblind people. This should be very easy to do technically. I guess that's a feature for a future version of the software.

On mine the file was called wehewennihrdasloescht.mp3.  I replaced it with the Windows Critical Stop.wav, and renamed it to wehewennihrdasloescht.wav and that worked.  I was surprised considering the original file was in mp3 format.  There is a file called illegal.mp3, but I haven't heard the annoying whistle sound since changing the other file.

Weird name... wehewennihrdasloescht translates to "Don't dare to delete that"
