any body read best lessons of a chess coach?
Hi, I think it's an excellent "strategic bridge" for club players transitioning from tactics to positional understanding. If "engaged" honestly, its "Socratic" method can be genuinely effective. However, it's not a comprehensive manual: it omits openings, endgames, and modern dynamic play. For players below 1500, I suggest starting with a tactics manual first; for players above 2200, supplement with more advanced strategic works (like Gelfer's "Positional Chess Handbook" or Hellsten's "Mastering Chess Strategy"). Best Lessons of a Chess Coach is on my reading list for a later time, when I have gained a few hundred more rating points.

Best Lessons of a Chess Coach by Sunil Weeramantry is an excellent book. It teaches via instructively annotated chess games. Note the author is GM Hikaru Nakamura's step-father as well as his first and only chess coach...
