Just buy a backpack and put some chess stuff in it. TA DA!
Anyone got a chess backpack they want to sell?
I'm guessing there must be more to a "chess backpack" than that...but for the life of me I cannot guess what.
I've looked at some fishing bags/cases to replace my chess case but I don't really want to spend that kind of money, especially since I haven't found a local source of the product to see if it would work out well (and see the quality).
Don't think I've seen a backpack specifically designed for chess.
It's totally unnecessary in the grand scheme of existance but at tournaments my board is sticking out of the top of my current backpack. And they have skinny long ones just for boards. I swear I'm trying to be a minimalist, I'm trying!
I believe this is what you are looking for.
I own a number of these and they are backpacks long enough to hold a vinyl or even a folding board.
This bag was created by Shelby Lohrman. For quite awhile he used to sell them on his American Chess Equipment site. And his father Ron sold them on his Rochester Chess Center site.
To my knowledge they are no longer available. However you could always contact the Rochester Chess Center, www.chessset.com I do know that Shelby no longer has any available.
Good luck
There are drum-stick bags that look like that. https://www.google.com/search?q=drumstick+bag/images&espv=2&biw=1024&bih=638&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjP9orExaLSAhXK7oMKHWvKCUIQ7AkIOA
I saw a girl with one at Amateur Team East and now I want one.
Anyone want to sell or know where to buy one new?
