Anyone recognize this chess set?

Sort:
sangahm

The inscription on the box says:

Hand Carved Chess Set
Style 353 Size 3
- Ancient Finish -
Pol., Weighted-felted
Made in France

The king is 3".

It's at least 30 years old.  Wanted to know if anyone knows about this set and potential value.

Looks like a typical 3" French Lardy set in matte finish.

Value? I'm gonna guess $100-125 usd depending on condition.

Jura made boxwood set. Impossible to tell which manufacturer made this one since they all made versions of the flat headed knight as I have shown before from the various makers websites, although that style still seems to have become exclusively associated with Lardy for some reason, which this set may be. A size 3 set is too small for tournaments so an estimate of $100-$125 may be a bit high.

See the discussion on a size 6 with the exact same printing and description in this thread https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/lardy-chavet-help-iding-this-jura-france-staunton-set

Lardy more than likely. Seems to be in good condition.
