Apple user, what are my electronic board options please?

How many of you guys use these boards every day? Sure, it's a nice toy but then it sits on the shelf.
For someone trying to get back into the game, his existing devices will do things he never dreamed of in the 70's.
Have you tried the iphone/ios app?

Why are you so concerned with gatekeeping someone's interests? There are many reasons to want and use such boards, as evidenced by discussions here and elsewhere. It's not a zero sum game, it is more than possible to recognize the amazing things even a phone can do but still want to use such a board.

How many of you guys use these boards every day? Like probably most people on the planet I own lots of things I don’t use every day
For someone trying to get back into the game, his existing devices will do things he never dreamed of in the 70's. And yet the physical aspect of moving pieces they can’t do - how about the best of both worlds (where appropriate - albeit limited)
Have you tried the iphone/ios app? Oh yes, great idea, focus on a small screen when there’s a perfectly good 27” 5K monitor on the desk.
Thanks for your concern and I’m sure you’ve got my back to make sure I don’t waste any of my hard earned folding stuff but that wasn’t really the question I asked - should I or shouldn’t I get a board??? Thanks for all the advice so far, here and in PMs

Tangentially, since you are also an iOS user, the ChessKing app, for which you can buy modules including the (rightly) renowned CT-ART tactics trainer is an insanely great deal at like $8 and much better to use on iPhone or iPad than the web-based versions (for which you get a discount if you want that access too). And CT-ART really is unique in its approach and impeccable source.
Does anyone know if DGT plans to release support for iOS so that Bluetooth boards can work with chess apps? Like acid ape on android? I just ordered a DGT Bluetooth board a week ago and will use with my PC but would love if it could also work with my iPhone.

Yes. I can see that you've played 6 whole games here in the last year...
I have no problems if you like them. They do look like fun.
I was only suggesting that the op might try out playing online with all the tools he already has.
I don't play often on a phone. I prefer a bigger screen. I still played over the board chess before the pandemic.

I look forward to hearing about your experience. My hand is eternally hovering over the “buy” button

It comes with detailed instructions for setting it up to play here and another popular place (that you can see on their youtube channel) - I'll be trying here for sure as I haven't (yet) got an account over there (points that way --->. ) I'll let you know how it goes
