Attaching Green Felt

What is the best adhesive to use for putting green felt onto wood?  What is used so it doesn’t bleed though felt or make it hard/crusty. Thanks.

Carpet adhesive - there are many makes available but I've used this on display stands in steel and wood. It's a lot easier to cut your felt to size before spraying; alternatively (if you have a steady hand) apply the felt and let it cure, then trim around the base with a very sharp knife.

Or a good pair of scissors. (Ref:Alan Dewey) I’ve used plain old Elmer’s white glue lightly applied to the bottom of the piece and then press it down on the felt and let set for a while before trimming.

The glue is spread flat and thinly across the base of the piece, by the way. That eliminates soak thru.

I've used various Liquid Nails products to attach felt.  The key is applying the glue sparingly and evenly.

I do it exactly the way Bill explains in his posts here, and as recommended by restoration expert Alan Dewey as mentioned by Bill. I spread a thin layer of white glue  on the bottom of the piece with a toothpick, and then attach to felt. After it dries, I trim the felt with a sharp scissors angled away from the edge of the base so as to not clip it.

Angled for two reasons. So we don’t clip the wood in the piece, and so that the felt is slightly recessed underneath the base.

Good point.

I actually use a pre-glued roll of felt (baize) I found on ebay. Excellent material and super strong adhesive. Can't remember who the seller was though lol. Just peel and stick happy.png ...

Hi, I would suggest a website, they sell self-adhesive felts. I bought a few sheets for my old sets won from Ebay auctions.
