Does anyone have this set?  nullThe story behind the pieces is interesting and I kind of like the squat appearance. HoS sells them here:

Just looking for a first hand account.

There was a past thread on this set written by cgrau, I have this set in ebonized boxwood as shown in your picture. It's cool a little set here the link to the post:

Thanks, Q. I'll take a look. Guess I should have searched before posting. I appreciate your effort!

I have the set in both ebonized and Golden Rosewood.

It has a nice and low center of gravity to the pieces.  I use this set quite a bit.

Thanks for the insight, Eyechess.

HOS included a matching black slide box when I made the purchase. It does play beautifully on a 2" or 2.25" board. FYI

It looks like HoS is still offering the box. Nice pieces at a good price and a box seems like a great deal.

Yes, it really is a nice set.  I bought the Golden Rosewood when it was first released about 1 1/2 years ago for Christmas.  I then bought the Ebonized set exactly one year later to be historically correct to the color of the original Ebony set.

I'm thinking the ebonized pieces for the same reason.
