Best computer chess program?

Also looking into a new chess program.  I currently have Chessmaster 9000 and Fritz 8.  Right now I'm thinking Fritz 11, but wanted other opinions.  Money is somewhat an object, but if I only have to buy one for a while, I might be willing to pay a little more.

Try Crafty.  It should be free on the Net, but I use Linux, so everything is free...

(there should be a windows version)

There's a free download on Chess.com that includes the latest free version of Rybka (2.2??) along with a WinBoard interface - try it!

Oracle11

I agree with what others have said, try the free option first and see if that does everything you need.

Grab the free Rybka UCI engine and use that in the Fritz 8 interface. It's more than enough for analysis and playing against.

However if you like more of the learning modules that you get in ChessMaster then perhaps getting the latest version of ChessMaster would be better suited for your needs.

Lucas Chess is phenomenal for a free program. More personalities than you can imagine, and lots of training features.
