Retro dedicated chess computer Mephisto's "Chess Challenger" has eight adaptive levels which are very important for child's motivation (well and for adult's, too). It should cost no more than 50 - 80 bucks on "Ebay". I've seen "ChessUp" and not impressed. It looks shiny, "sweet" and cheap, preferelably for girls. But this one, beforementioned is so cool that even have additional "secret" options beside them from the official manual (additional set of unlimited options).
Virtually unlimited options and settings most even not present in the most modern software with added benefit of playing OTB. Manual for specific model easy searchable over the net.
Hi. I have a 6 year old. Trying to teach him chess. I was looking at the Chess Up board, as it seems like it's a good board for him to touch the pieces and show him the good moves vs bad ones, and I can setup the AI to play at my level so it gives him the sense of playing on my level. Is that the case with this board? Which is the best board for kids? I don't really care about online play ATM, but it would be a nice benefit.
TIA!
