Bilguer's Handbuch

Sort:
Dodger111

Ever heard of it?

The 1st edition began in the early 1800's and by 1920 the 8th edition grew to 1300 pages . The 8th edition had a half dozen of the top GM's in the world as contributors and editors, but it was only in German and has never seen the light of day since. It is a prized collectable, but is not available anywhere today.

I'd love to have a modern day reprint in English.

There's an ebook here that you can read in your browser even if you don't have an Android tablet.

It looks like ole Sam Sloan (Ishi Press) has printed it too.

I own each edition of the Bilguer’s (1-8) with a few duplicates of certain editions. One, the 6th edition, is a copy previously owned by one of its contributors (F. Riemann) with an inscription from the publisher to Mr. Riemann as well as several hand written annotations by Riemann in the sections he authored.. one of most cherished of my collection..
