I subscribed to you. Great idea for videos. The video provides a game to think about and pieces to look at.

Quick question. I wonder whether my guess is correct. That board is by the Polish manufacturer Wegiel? Correct? It is supposed to be 2.25 squares and costs around $50 or less. I own one and it looks exactly like that board. These boards are very excellent. I own two solid ones of them of slightly different sizes, and one folding board by the same Wegiel manufacturer. Their chess pieces are so so but the boards are excellent.

Drawgood, Thank you for the sub!  happy.png

Yes that is correct on the board. I got it on Amazon for $37 with 2day prime shipping. The cheapest 2.25 inch wood board I can find lol

I do have a walnut&Maple board from HOS which we plan to use at some point. It all depends on the lighting and camera angle.

My Chavet 2.0 Chess Bazaar in Sheesham came in today.

This set is really nice and very well done.  I have wanted a Chavet set since Ronbo started showing his.  Of course the originals are really hard to get.

The set does everything for me, the player, that I could want of a Chavet set.

@ Eyechess: If I may ask when you get a chance, can you post a closeup image of your ChessBazaar Chavet Sheesham V2.0 Knights? I like to see how close they came to refining this set and how close they came to the reproduction of the originals as shown in the images from posts #18 &#19. Thanks, all the best!

Hi everyone,

For fun, we did a video of CB's Chavets with both Sheesham and Ebonized pieces side by side. We also did a quick game between the two (Sheesham is white) happy.png

I got both because I had a hard time deciding between the two and I'm sure someone is going through the same situation so I hope this video helps them out.

I also took a few photos for a viewer so why not share it with you guys.

Cheers

Nice... Like the way the ebonized and sheesham look together. Feels like a HOS luxury version!

I just ordered a Dubrovnik (revised version) set from RCM, I should get it early next week.

I picked this one over the Indian competition (CB, CbI, ChessNCrafts, etc) because of the wood and the knight which I find more attractive, from the photos at least. The NOJ set is too expensive I think, at least in terms of value for money.

Interesting!

The set seems to be similar to House of Staunton's but cheaper and option for rosewood. Can you keep me posted once you get the set? Photos would be great happy.png
