Finally justice ...
An extraordinary biography of one of the best chess writers today: Sergey Voronkov .
Justice to a great chess player, champion of the 5º USSR Championship i 1927 , amateur and never wanted to make chess his life and career. He never lost with the patriarch of Soviet chess , inflicting three defeats . The Seui great sin : he who had defeated the scheme was intended to world title . Botvinnik hated bogatyrchuk, and maybe because of this, the great player was accused of being pro -Nazi during the World War 2.
Pure lie and Voronkov , prove it .
Botvinnik was a great chess player, but humanly an authentic " jerk" ( Sosonko unsuccessfully tries to hide in his Russian Silhouettes the pettiness , the darker side of power Botvinnik -an assumed Stalinist. the rest is talk, talk! )
So, this great player escape to Czechoslovakia, and after for the homeland that respected and adopted him : Canada.
Banned from the classification tables, his pictures removed of chess magazines, and silenced his name on the Russian chess books (except for some as he was defeated!). A martyr of the Soviet chess !
Fedor Parfen'evych Bogatyrchuk ( Bogatirchuk , Bohatirchuk , Bogatyrtschuk , Bohatyrchuk , Bohatyrczuk ) ( in Russian : Фёдор Парфеньевич Богатырчук )
And why all this?
Because I have a little book that is a gem, cited in the bibliography and in text of Voronkov Book!
A typewritten book of Pachman on Bogatyrchuk!
Pachman as a communist was an enemy of "Boga", but later "anti-communist" ,acknowledged his mistake and became an advocate of Bogatyrchuk cause. This book with Ludek Pachman commented games of Fedor Bogatyrchuk is a tribute to this great player in its passage through Czechoslovakia.
I wait and wish passionately that an less idiot editor of chess books make possible a translation of this wonderful two books of Voronkov!
