If you have a Macintosh computer, AIChessGM is almost certainly the most advanced chess training system ever created. Currently it is free, freely downloadable from AIChessGM.com. Each download will be good for one week. Likely this summer it will go commercial.

@jamescoons How old are you to use the formal word Macintosh? I love it.happy

I have the following books:

Chess Fundalmentals - Cabalanco

How to Win At Chess - Rozman

Fundamental Chess Openings - Paul van der Sterren

Logical Chess: Move by Move: Irving Cher

Openings - I have two I use which is the Ruy Lopez Opening and the Sicilian Defense. My my middlegame is so so, but getting there as well as my endgame

I hear How to How to Win at Chess is the one to start with. But I’ve read the Cabalanco’s book helped a lot of people.

Thoughts?

Silman's complete endgame course. You don't mention whether you intend to play just on the computer or whether you plan to play over-the-board. If over-the-board, at very least get a FIDE sized silicone mat board and full-size plastic pieces to go with it. Then use them when going through books.

I guess that you meant Chess Fundamentals by José Raoul Capablanca? If so I second that as well as FCO and Logical Chess by Chernev. These three should keep one occupied for at lest a year.
