the best opening articles you will find on wikipedia or in youtubevideos. i dont know any good chess opening book to a specific opening. of course one could write a very good book. but nobody wants that. You could investigate who played the english opening a lot. and then study the games of this guy. I think Karpov played this opening a lot. And I believe Caruana plays it too.

Plz do not buy any book by John Watson. Its a vaste of money nothing else. There r many free books that are very old but nevertheless good. Dont buy any modern opening book. According of my experience its just a vaste of money. Nothing else.

Wikipedias chess opening articles combined r much better than any modern opening book. and its totally free.

But yeah theoretically one good write extremely good and powerful opening books. problem nobody does that. because nobody wants it.

once i bought a book about the italian game. and this idiot / the author just told me the whole time its a trash opening and even GMs can lose with it. Thats what I call vaste of money and time.
