I am looking for some book on the evolution of chess thoughts, from Romantic (Morphy), Classical (Steinitz), Modern, Hypermodern styles etc. Not too much game analysis, but I wish to understand more from the psychological perspectives, the (possibly) historical and cultural forces driving the change. Ideally, the book should be a mix of psychology (accessible to laymen) and chess with a bit of history thrown in, in a storytelling style. I know it is probably too arcane a topic to write on, especially by chess professionals. But still, any recommendation around these areas?
