Fantastic acquisition Chuck, thanks for the many wonderful pictures of this historic set. . I was wondering what the condition of the felt bottoms and what they look like. Can you post a pic?

Thanks, Mike. The felts are in pretty good vintage shape. I'll post a picture later, after a period of indentured servitude to the Domestic High Command.

I am always impressed at the pictures you post of your chess sets.

Maybe sometime you could set your pieces up in the exact same position as one of those vintage photos you have and show us a nice little side by side view!

Thanks for the pics Chuck, it looks like the felts have withstood the test of time!

They definitely are playable. The material is more like burlap than felt. Perhaps I'll refelt them at some point. Perhaps not.
