Have you tried F8 on rebooting, so that Vista won't load? Maybe the software will manage on a minimal O/S. Else, maybe the retailer Chessbooksfromeurope would refund your money? Or, your credit card company would bully them into doing so?
Should work with Vista: "SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: IBM-compatible PC, 64 Mb RAM, Hard Disk 200 Mb, of free disk space, Windows 2000/NT/ME/XP/2003/Vista, CD-ROM drive. No additional software is required."
It does look like very old software (published back when Vista was not yet out but expected).

I bought Opening Instructor by Convetka from Chessbooksfromeurope recently. The CD is the old interface, Convetka tells me, and won't open on Windows Vista, which I have. Now I'm stuck with it because the owner of Chessbooksfromeurope won't respond to my requests to refund my money. Anyone have a similar experience?
