8xx? And you make us wait for a whole month? 😳
Chavet N° 8
I want that first board! How much is a plane ticket to Australia? If not for sale,ya' better sleep with one eye open.

From France to Australia… thank you @Walterbiensur 👍
Merci @Powderdigit ;-) Magnifique !

As I will have no other choice than to wait until August, I thought that this set could be a clue to illustrate games whose number starts with 800. So most certainly a model made of exotic wood : size 8 Chavet in varnished rosewood.
and a "small skewer" sizes 10 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3

I am remain so happy with my Chavet pieces that I purchased from the gentleman @Walterbeinsur …. Here are the green pieces matched with a vintage board that I recently acquired.

Very nice combination Mark.
That chess set is perfect.
Perfect form and function. That could be your only chess set. And you could be happy.
Thank you and I agree … if this was my only set - I would be happy, no doubt.

@Powderdigit Which do you like more the green one or the normal Jurawood version?
Mate - with this one I get the best of both worlds. A unique or rarely seen green dark side, where I can still appreciate the wood knots and swirls through the stain along with with the direct beauty of the light side. They are both excellent.

Could I ask where you got the vintage board from? It seems perfect to me — the raised border and the even, horizontal wood grain.
The acoustic guitar crowd on the Martin Guitar Forum call those swirls and streaks "character".
Quite desirable and very interesting looking set there.

Hi @Khopqblanca - good to hear from you. The board is a ripper! It was purchased locally(online), second-hand; it came with pieces which weren’t to my taste but I’ll sell the pieces and keep the board.

From Australia?!?? I didn’t believe we would have such good vintage boards here. I’ll have to keep my eyes out for one. Was it through Gum Tree / FB Marketplace or something?
Very nice knights and as usual, very impresive collection!, and thanks @Walterbiensu
