I did forget to mention a couple of things. The bud rosewood set is retailing for exactly $199.00, which is quite a fair price for a set with such nice wood. However, my holiday discount was 30%, which means it only cost $140.00 and had free shipping, which was remarkably fast. According to my FedEX package tracking, it left New Delhi late on the 14th, and was delivered at my house in Portland Oregon before noon on the 16th. I don't know how that is even possible, but it happened. If you ordered tomorrow, you would get your set before Christmas, I'm sure.
Chess Bazaar Bohemia German Chess Set

I have this set in boxwood and ebonized boxwood. I replaced the felt with thick red felt. This is the only wooden set I own, and I am very satisfied with it. I think it's a great combination with the Dubrovnik bishop, the distinctive knight and the sturdy king's finial.

@pawnerai I used a compass cutter and stiffened felt - you can see the process here: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/ecliptic-design-now-available-in-abs-plastic?page=3
@mvk20 I think Chess Bazaar's prices are very reasonable so I wouldn't want to undercut them by making a 3D printable clone of their design. I prefer to 3D print older styles that are hard to find in wood and the copyright has expired, or my own original designs.

Understood. The 3d printing allows scaling to sizes CB would never produce, but I totally get what you’re saying.

Could you share some of the historical significance Bohemia German Chess Set immersed you in, brunettilily, oh please
I got my set a few minutes ago. The kings body looks shorter than some sets, as the rings are lower down, and he head is longer and tapered more. On the other hand, I like that the head doesn't have sharp edges, it just feels good in the hand. The knights look gorgeous, and all the pieces are very well proportioned with each other. The rosewood looks stunning on my HoS coral ash and maple 2 1/4 squares board. Pictures to follow.
