Reinfeld books are good. If you are looking for some 'beginner' books, check out the Everyman Chess (publisher) series by Seirawan. These will definitely get you up and running.
chess book
if U have a decent computer try Chessmaster GM edition. Has so many tutorails and walks u threw some great games. And josh Watkins is good teacher. But, I know, books. I like chess puzzle books and i enjoyed "The art of attack in chess" by Vukovic. But u will need a chess set to work with while u go threw it.
I have played chess before and only familiar with the very basics of the game, have just bought a chess book 'beginners guide to winning chess' its by fred reinfeld. seems OK, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this book, should i look for something better?
