I am thinking about some books to help boost my rating. I have read Amateurs mind and Yasser serwin tactics, I laso own Yassrer's stratergy book. I am thinking of getting some books. my ideas are: Pump up your rating A book on evaluating and planning (ie Chess Blueprints: Planning in the Middl

I agree that Chernov is a great author and that Capablanca has quite instructive endgames. However, have to disagree on wasting time on boring and tedious books. CCE and Secrets of Pawn Endings will greatly help your endgame. Take care of boring stuff first, then study tactics and attacking

Speaking of which Advaned Defense and CT-Art Beginner should be good materials for that rating range, but are software not books.
