Chess Clock Slap Happy !

I recently got a ZMF 11 chess clock. I brought out my old Torpedo chess clock made in Germany for comparison. The ZMF keeps perfect time & the Torpedo might be off just a few seconds if this matters to you. I am talking like 2-4 seconds off for the Torpedo. You have to wind the Torpedo for both sides. No dead battery might be a plus in some situations. The ZMF is quiet & the Torpedo mechanical clock has constant ticking that might annoy some people. I really enjoy slapping the plunger down with hand or captured piece with the Torpedo. On the ZMF you just touch the button with your hand/finger. On the Torpedo if you don't slap the plunger down hard enough, your clock might still be running. No such problem with the ZMF as it does give a soft audible tone when the button is even very slightly touched. The ZMF will give you a pleasent audible tone when your time is up. On the Torpedo you have to check to see if the flag has fallen. I really like the ZMF clock better but, I do miss that slap though.!

It seems like a good clock for blitz, but for longer time controls I prefer a more detailed display
