Very rare clock and one of a kind ! Any idea who the manufacturer of this clock is? -

Congratulations on finding a truly unique clock. I have never seen anything like it. Looks gorgeous.

I have no idea who manufactured this clock, but it looks to be a custom wooden casing housing two pocket watches - that would lead me to suspect the Hawkes Company. check them out, or look into the manufacturer they used (http://www.clockguy.com/SiteRelated/SiteReferencePages/IngrahamHistory.html)

Can you post more pics, especially of the back/interior clockworks)?

Whoever it was didn't play blitz. No flags to drop.

Great clock and pairing, El C. Where did you find it? I just picked one up too from House of Staunton Antiques.

@cgrau, so you are the one that got Frank's personal clock!

Yup. That would be me. A double dose of history.

You say that as if it's a BAD thing! happy.png

I love my Duel Timer and its Steampunk aesthetics... I wish I had bought 2 back when they were still available!

I once had a Solora chess clock. It was a lovely thing.

Nice clock Cgrau I was trying to buy that same clock same time as you. Frank emailed me saying that it was sold so it was you! At the end pretty happy how it went because the one i got doesn't have Frank's artwork on the bottom. On that note I hope his chess was better than his artwork btw grin.png

LOL. I love the "artwork." It adds an additional level of historic interest for me and establishes this clock's pedigree and relation to a significant figure in American chess. The initials on the front, however, came off easily with a little baking soda paste. The clock is in fantastic shape, and after a little tune-up by my local clock repairman, seems to run perfectly.

I wonder what his motivation was for those doodles. kinda misterious indeed grin.png. Yes i worried about the initials but glad they came out. The one i bought from Dortland was like new as well.

It's list price, just a shade under $300.
