@TheOneCalledMichael If possible, you should edit your first post in this thread. Add a warning and refer readers to Post #55. Big and bold on the first line of your first posting until this is resolved. I'm so tired of this.
**UPDATE WARNING** Unacceptable quality control issues at The Chess Empire. See Post #55.
I understand but this could be an incident case because I've never heard TCE is delivering sloppy quality before. If I put this in first post and bold letters it would insinuating TCE is always like this. I'd give them benefit of the doubt and this is just an isolated case.
I see your point as well. My suggestion was a one sentence warning to prospective TCE Chavet buyers, to offset the 3 pages of 54 positive TCE posts in the thread leading up to Post #55. The review in Post #55 is of the actual delivered product. But I totally get your opinion.
In any case, we'll know soon enough when @Krames gets his TCE Rosewood Chavet. I'd keep a close eye on those Queen crowns, King cross finial tool marks, and missed lacquer. On a side note, i guess they use one coat? Good enough?
Maybe that mold is a one time thing. But seriously, WTF. In this pandemic era, where everyone has a heightened sense of sanitizing, and someone gets a package from a country that was especially hard hit, and it has mold on it? Keep that in a ziploc sealed bag.
TCE obviously dropped the ball. I think that Rishi would not knowingly allow a set like this to exist and blemish TCE's reputation for excellence. Good companies occasionally produce defective products. Before labeling the company in a way that might cause undo long-term harm, I would contact Rishi immediately and, based on his response, then decide what action, if any, is further warranted.
So my thoughts are clear, the TCE Chavet set in Post 55 is unacceptable. I also do not think the product is at all representative of TCE's workmanship or general QC.
