No extra queens... totally unplayable. Just kidding. That’s at least 100k.

Maybe for an original Isle of Lewis set I would.

What is the purity of the silver?

Avatar of notabjoe

It is sterling .925 % and one side is gold plated over the Sterling using an old technique of mercury gilding which is very hazardous but produces an amazing result.

Stunning work of art but they look more like miniatures for a Dungeons and Dragons game than chess pieces! grin.png

How much? What is it made of? (I know post #7 says what it is made of). I would not buy this, even if I had this much money sitting around. This is a good example of the fact, "It is not how much money you have, but how you spend it." With this much money I could buy a custom-made set (for a fraction of the cost); you could even hire people - and have a life-sized chess set! wink.png Not to mention all of chess books, or coaches. There may even be a way to buy an "honorary GM title" for that much. I don't get it, there are simply better ways to spend money than this.
