No reason to pay for an engine, Stockfish is either the strongest in the world or close enough and completely free. Get that. To play against, get Lucas Chess, which has over a hundred human personalities to play against and is a very good host for engine analysis to boot.
Aquarium 2015 I recommended for you, engine Komodo 9.

chess king or chessbase starter package (commercial) and make reference database using TWICs + ICCF corr dbs (free to download)/ stockfish [free]/ chessx [db management] free] --- see squarology youtube tutorial how to use. Komodo 6 (engine) is free btw. SCID (for PC) is free db management too if use Mac/Apple.
ichess (tactics), chess.com app, chess24 app (IDK if only premium can use), good for tablets.

Im trying to decide on a Chess Engine and I'm looking for suggestion on which one should I get.
I'm interested in a good software for analysis and playing.
I looked at Deep Shredder 12 and Deep Fritz14 but again suggestions and opinions will make it easier for me to decide on a purchase.
