These boxes hold almost all of the 3.75" sets with extra queens that I own (and even a few 4" sets with extra queens). Exceptions are 3.75" sets with extra queens that have thicker pieces and/or large pawns as, for example, the House of Chess 3.75" Regal set. The rather thick ChessBazaar 3.625" Dubrovnik set with extra queens just barely fits into one of these boxes after much careful arrangement of the chessmen.

The boxes that I received from this Polish company (aka Sunrise Handicrafts) differed somewhat in the dimensions that they list in that while the length of the boxes is the same at about 8-2/3", the width was actually about 5" and the height was about 3.5", which works out to a slightly greater volume per box than the dimensions that they list on their website.

They are slightly larger than the cigar humidor below that I purchased from Amazon (whose actual dimensions are smaller than those given by Amazon) and have considerably more interior space because the boxes are nowhere near as thick, nor does the lid fit inside of the bottom of the boxes, as it does in the cigar humidor.

Many thanks, JM.

Well, I just received my first (but not last) humidor from Amazon Prime. Less than $25, well-finished, and fits my massive Mechanics Institute set with ease. Great recommendations Pareto and Up!

One day, cigar enthusiasts will argue as to which chess box makes the best humidor

LOL. If they want to pay double or triple for the pleasure.

Glad you found them a home!
