chess tutor for linux

Hi there,

I made a research on the forum but I didn't find any interesting post about linux-native tutoring software.

I would like to install (if it exists) a software behaving more or less like the trainer mode of Fritz 8 (I saw only this version); I'm not looking for particular chess engines or databases.

It would be very useful to have a "virtual opponent" who tries to explain you how to get better while you are playing with him (it?!).

Could you recommend me anything?

Thank you!

bye

I think the market for chess software is small as it is, making a linux version is not economically feasible. So I don't think you will be able to find anything, you'll just have to use your PC at work

Unless my PC at work runs Linux, which is actually my case! Frown

Have you looked into using WINE?  Fritz is supposed to work pretty well using WINE, though I haven't personally tried it.
