Yes, on PS4 you can toggle between swivel-snapback view (the one that gives the OP spins), top-down view, and close-up view by using the Square button. Clicking the R3 stick when in swivel-snapback view will lock the camera's angle. R2 and L2 zoom in and out; I don't know about other versions besides ps4 but there should be equivalent controls. Take a look in the menus to see if there's anything you can hit to bring up the control map.
Chess Ultra, Settings Questions

Recently purchased, "Chess Ultra".
The AI, plays a competitive game.
For an inexpensive piece of software, it has a pretty good engine.
The ambient game settings however are distracting. There are airplanes , and motor vehicle noises in the background. Yes obviously you can turn off the sound.
The real nuisance is trying to set the board vertical ( like the typical analysis board, here)
It's fixed in a 3/4 view like a computer game. And when you spin the scroll wheel or move the mouse it spins the playing board.
As my user name indicates I frequently enjoy many glasses of beer while playing. So all the unwanted board movement makes me almost sea-sick.
If any of you know how to set up a stable vertical board, please post instructions.
If any of you want to tell me the evil of alcohol, that's fine but don't smoke cigarettes while you berate me.
