Chessbase : Ideas on How to Organize

Sort:
Avatar of mike107

Just recently purchased Chessbase, as I'm looking to expand my chess world a bit. But I'm looking to get ideas from the community on how to organzie things. For example, I've got a number of games played here on chess.com & on Fritz itself. Trying to put these into CB, should I create one big database and move both sets of games into this singular database? Or should I create 2 DB's, one for chess.com, and another for Fritz?  Should I create one folder for My Games, and then 2 folders underneath that? Or just push the (1 or 2) databases into that folder?

I also downloaded 3 years of games from both the US Championships & the London Chess Classic. What's the best/optimal way to store those games in Chessbase?

I realize it can be a personal thing, but just looking for ideas as to what works best for other players.

Thanks for your ideas,,, Mike

I advocate putting all chess related games and info into their own databases. It makes retrieval and sorting later much easier.
