chessnut air board not working?

i've gotten a chessnut air and have been pretty excited for it, but when i started using it, it did not connect with the white pawn app at all. is there any way to fix it? for clarification, the moves that the board thinks i've made are not the ones i make

it also shows this for some reason when i click on the exed out red button. it matches up with my board which is weird
You’ve got the white and black pieces on the wrong sides.
