Chessnut Evo : Which reasons not to pledge?
Thank you for your answer. I like that the "tablet" is attached to the board. It s a standalone connected product. Playing with a connected board +a tablet is boring for many reasons: lost connection between board and tablet, necessity to look at the screen etc..
this concept give you the feel of physical play with the comfort of chess applications. Highlighting the cases avoid to look at the screen and so eyes strain.

Hello,
Chessnut Evo kickstarter ends within 5 hours from now. I pledged this amazing project.
The concept is awesome!
Despite huge reduction, it s still a certain amount of budget.
I would like to know whether good reasons exist not to pledge this board? What do you think?
imma be honest its acutlaly kinda good for 479 bucks, but 799, ehh maybe a bit expensive, try lower it to 500-600 ish
I would agree, the $799 price point is a bit high, although the more I use it the more I would be willing to pay for it. Amazing piece of kit.

How has your experience been using it to play online games on chess.com? Do you play blitz or rapid games with the Evo?

I play rapid games.
Currently you should only play longer games with increment as they are still working out the bugs and their software sometimes hangs on a move and you have to restart the app (very easy to do, but will ruin your blitz games).
When I first got it there were some big issues but they have resolved those and it is a pretty smooth playing experience.

Growing pains just like what SquareOff, DGT, Certabo and Millennium went through.
