I believe you're correct. He makes the same points in his reviews 1 star reviews of competitors........"Customs tax, weak knight jaw and ears"...etc. Also appears he is associated with chessmonarch

Don’t have enough expertise to know if you are right or not but the grumpy syntax of the reviews would seem to be similar to chessopera’s. I also note that chessopera declared “Henry Chavet chess set king 3.5” is around $150 to max $200 and nothing more.” when referencing the rare and desirable size 6 vintage Chavet. Chessmonarch/ansarez had an 8.5mm and 3.5 inch Chavet vintage sets for sale at £130 and £200 respectively (size 4 and 5 I think) Coincidence? Maybe.
I was wondering about this for some time now, this is not just any forum, it's a chess forum and at some point, people would use their pattern recognition and deduction skills to zero in on the perp.
Two clues present themselves about Chessopera.
One, he won't post any pictures of his chess sets. Many think this was because he didn't own any. What if he was a serious antique collector? Posting pictures sometimes gives clues of who the owner might be.
Second clue, for someone who is into chess antiques, it's strange that he won't spell Jon Crumiller's name properly. Twice it was "Crumllier." Misspelling Crumiller seems to be a habit rather than a mistake. Coincidence? No!! Crumiller is a chess celebrity; even non collectors know his name.
There are two posts - one by ChessOpera and then ScotchGambit2000. Now there is another post by a different profile - gambiteer63 who again misspells Crumiller as Crumllier. It's looking like a pattern now. (Edit: After some discussion, I realize that I was mistaken in mentioning gambiteer63 in this post. My apologies to him.)
Is there any chess collector who might fit this profile? Misspells Crumiller.Problems with Carl, Antiquing process. Ayres.

Or maybe it was Jonny Lee Millier.

gambiteer63 is not connected to scotchgambit2000/stauntonmaster/chessopera.His misspelling of crumiller is deliberate and ironic. Hence why he says “crumllier” doesn’t exist.

I would like to apologize to gambiteer63 for incorrectly mentioning his name in the list above. His use of the word was sarcastic.Looks like many others observed the weird syntax and vocabulary, Chessopera was using. Infact gambiteer63 needs to be congratulated for identifying the perp so accurately. I will edit the original post above.
Isn't wiscmike the moderator for this forum ? Can't he delete all the spam postings ? Initially felt angry with chessopera for spoiling many good threads but now I just hope he gets well soon !!
Merry Xmas

Philos 95 Mm KH Sigismund Chess Pieces
Not proportionate enough
Problem with Philos chess sets is they are not proportionate and the body of the chessmen are somewhat thick and crude. They are also too pricy compared with same type sets.
The Executive Palisander Chess Set
Too pricy
Same sets are selling for half the price on the market. The price must be reviewed specially as it is sheesham wood.
Purling Of London - Bold Chess Classic Red v Shadow Black
Very fragile knights and no after sale service
London Purling chess sets are notorious for their fragile knights. The knights’ chins, jaws and ears break more easily than can be imagined and the replacement costs as much as the whole chess set. The queen’s crown is not an...Read full review
