ok thanks ananthh... i think it more a problem with older software on windows 7... also my older music software crashes often on win.7 so now i have an extra old XP pc...

Instead of running two PCs have you tried XP mode in Win 7, or Microsoft's free virtual PC? You can run your XP system inside your Win 7 system.

You're welcome. Virtualisation is very cool :)
There's also the free VMPlayer from VMWare if you want a completely separate virtual XP PC.
I have not been impressed with Convecta's software but It surely cannot be as bad for your computer as Windows itself is.
