Cracked Bakelite. Do solid Bakelite pieces crack? Did Rottgames make a bakelite set way back?

I am hoping to tell if this is Bakelite from this picture.

I don't think you can really tell by a picture but cracking and brittleness are features of old bakelite.

Your image appears to be a Gallant Knight pawn (plastic). Bakelite damage typically represents a brittle nature, with high damage areas being screw joints and topsides (shown above).

Also, I’m not sure of the history between Gallant Knight and Rottgames, but the pieces are almost 100% identical. I’m sure a little research could unearth some info in that regard.
