For people who are familiar with both books, which would you recommend as the best opening system for black?

Oh i have nothing against either books.  IN fact i really enjoy his books.  My answer was in relationship to y our ratings.  Just my .02, but i think you would be better off with open games.

his 1.b6 is pretty good but far from complete, and i dont entirely trust all his suggestions. I have not seen his 1.d6 book.

if you are going to b6, get lakdawala over Bauer's which i think requires a little more understanding.
